My Painful yet Wonderful birthing experience~!!
Went for my check up on the 7th of july and was screened and was told that i was already 2cm dialated but it was still ok as i was not very stretchy..Was told that if baby doesn't come out on it's own, i'll be scheduled for induction on the 14th of july..And it was that on the day itself i found out that xxavier's EDD (estimated due date) was supposed to be on the 8th and not the 10th..Was quite disappointed when i heard the news as i wanted xxavier out soon..Was then told to do a scan to confirm the volume of fluid left around xxavier..Scanned and found out that there was not enuff fluid..Normal was rated at 5, but mine was only at 3.7..So the doctor said to amit into hospital the next day and den do a IOL (induction of labour)..Agreed, signed and waited excitedly for the next day to arrive..
8th of July, when to SGH at 8.30am after having macdonals' breakfast at home..Was mine encouragement breakfast meal..Hahas =) was amitted into the labour ward and the doctor came to insert the tablet into me to help my cervix to ripe faster..tablet was put in at 10am and was told to lie down and wait for the next review which is 2hrs later..
2hrs later, i just felt a wee bit of pain, so was send down to the normal ward to wait..Soon, night came and was told to rest and wait for the next day..Hubbie went home as he had to work the next day..and the hospital did not allow him to stay back after 8.30pm as visiting hours were over..
9th July, Was checked by a doctor at 8plus in the morning and was told that i am 3cm dilated and they sent me down to the labour ward once again to break my water bag..Informed hubbie and he rushed down after opening the shop door for his collegues..
Changed, lied down and water bag was broke..So what we gotta do now is just lie down there aimlessly and wait for the cervix to open more..Was told that i am not suppose to take any food execpt for plain water..Was den put on drip..
Starting was alright but soon contractions were unbearable..So in the end i could take no more and requested for an epidural..The HANDSOME doctor came in and explained the whole process and i signed the papers..Was damn desparate for that jab..Epidural inserted and finally i get to rest..Managed to catch a few hours of nap but the pain soon came back..Epidural was inserted 3 times as i couldn't stand the pain..Double dosage was oso given to me as contrations were hurting me till i teared..Way was i so damn glad to see the doctor eveytime he came in to give me the jab..
At 2am, my contractions were moving very closely and the doctor came in and checked on me..Was told that i was already 8cm dialated and that they could see the baby's head approaching..So it was time to start pushing..
There were like 7 people in the room including hubbie..but all was there not for show..all of them encouraged me to keep pushing..
The pushing stage was hard and i got to use alot of strength..a few occasions i pushed till i wanna puke..Vomited quite a few times but that helped pushed xxavier out..So the doctors were like asking me to vomit more..LOL~!! Den i joked that maybe i should just continue to vomit and vomit him out..Hahas =)
After alot of pushing, xxavier was finally out at 4plus..He was put onto me the moment he came out, BLOODY~!! I almost got a damn shocked of my life as it all happened so fast..
They cleaned him up and started to weigh him and stuffs like that..was den bought to the nursery with hubbie following him there..While for me, i was super tired ler..Decided to close my eyes and rest while the doctor stitch me up..Didn't get to ask how stitches was i gaven as i was super tired..So i dun even know how much i have teared..
Was sent down to the normal ward after everything is done..Hubbie accompanied me back to the ward too after he came back from baby's side..
Was asked to rest while hubbie was asked to go home and rest and come back again in the morning..
